Consumers Want 'PERFECTION' in their Kitchens and Baths

It is being reported that consumers are seeking “mastery” and “perfection” in their kitchens and baths, according to Andrew Tuck of New York-based Applied Research and Consulting, who presented findings of a consumer and retailer survey at this year’s Kitchen and Bath Industry Show (K/BIS) in Chicago.

The survey included interviews with 42 “higher-end” independent kitchen and bath retailers, as well as 325 homeowners with a household income of $75,000 to $120,000.

On the consumer end, homeowners expressed a desire to have “complete mastery” over their spaces and over the planning process in their remodeling efforts. They also said they want their bathrooms to be a sanctuary where they can escape.

“This entire industry is now a high-end, full-service business,” Tuck said. Ninety-two percent of consumers want a knowledgeable staff at a home improvement store, while 91 percent reported wanting a product and service guarantee. Consumers, however, also revealed that they were not as receptive to traditional sales pitches. “Consumers expect a wide range of tactics,” Tuck said.

Bring Back Old Glory:

One morning, about 4 years ago, the 10’ Flag Pole that stood outside of the Ridgefield Supply Company rusted out at the base and was found horizontal. There was must discussion on where to put a new Flag Pole, however, the employees decided for the company.

It has become an annual tradition among the employees to present Louis and Jo-Anne Price with a Christmas Gift. Traditionally it has been a night out in Manhattan. However, this year they really out did them selves and present the Prices with a 38’ Flag Pole that can be seen from Main Street and Grove Street.

Now that the snow and the frost are gone, the Flag Pole is finally up thanks to the hard work of some wonderful employees that stayed after hours. It is quite a site to see the new Flag Pole, and it is a heart warming story how the employees of the company pulled together to put it there. The Price family is thankful beyond words for the generous gift.
